Bryony Page 'emotional' after carrying flag for Team GB in Paris 2024 closing ceremony

Former Nantwich schoolpupil, Bryony Page was "very emotional" after carrying the flag for Team GB in the Olympic Games Paris 2024 closing ceremony.
Page, who was born in Crewe, won Great Britain's first trampoline Olympic gold, on Friday 2 August,
The 33-year-old completed her set of a medal of every colour that day, becoming one of 14 olympians to win gold for Team GB at Paris 2024.
On Sunday 11 August, Page was selected alongside Alex Yee (Olympic gold triathlete), to be the flag bearer for Team GB to conclude the games.
In a statement, Bryony said: "When I got the call to tell me, I couldn't believe it, it is truly such an honour.
"It is a very emotional and proud moment, and I cannot wait to hold the flag for every athlete who had competed.
"Congratulations to every single one of them for their performances and how they have supported every other team member, it is such. special team to be a part of.
"To have won an olympic gold at my third games and now to be given this honour, it just caps the incredible experience Paris 2024 has been for me."
Page trained as a youngster at The Wingate Centre in Wrenbury, the village where she used to live.
She also attended Brine Leas and Malbank Sixth Form in Nantwich.
