A special milestone in the creation of Kingsbourne Academy, Nantwich's brand-new primary school, was celebrated on Wednesday 22 October, with a beam signing ceremony at the construction site.
The event marks an exciting stage in the build of the new school, which is on track to open in September 2026 with applications now open for Reception places for the first intake.
Chief Executive Officer of North West Academies Trust (NWAT), Steve Docking OBE, joined representatives from Cheshire East Council, as well as Director of Conlon Construction, Lee Parry, to put their mark on part of the school's frame.
Local residents and prospective families and children were also invited to sign a commemorative steel plate that will be embedded into the structure of the building as a lasting reminder of community involvement in the project.

When complete, Kingsbourne Academy will be the first new school built in Cheshire East since the council was formed in 2009, symbolising a major investment in education and local growth.
Mr Docking told Nub News: "This beam signing marks a really proud moment for everyone involved in Kingsbourne Academy.
"The school represents not just a new building, but a new opportunity for children, families, and the community of Nantwich. We're delighted to be working alongside Cheshire East Council and Conlon Construction to bring this vision to life."
Kingsbourne Academy will be operated by North West Academies Trust, which runs 12 successful schools across Cheshire and Shropshire.
Chair of Cheshire East Council's children and families committee, Cllr Laura Crane, said: "It is fantastic to see the development of the school progressing well and on track to open next September, this is going to be such an important investment and welcome addition to Nantwich.
"Engaging with local children and families in the area is a priority for us, to remind residents that this new academic provision is available, and to ensure that applications for reception places are submitted ahead of the deadline on 15 January.
"Applications can be made via the school admissions page on our website."

Applications for Reception 2026 are now open via the Cheshire East Council admissions portal, closing Thursday 15 January, 2026.
Director at Conlon Construction, Lee Parry, added: "It's a real privilege to welcome children and families to site for such an exciting milestone in the creation of Kingsbourne Academy.
"Bringing this school to life has been a true team effort, working closely with the council, the Trust, and local partners throughout. Today's signing is more than just a moment in the build; it's a chance to celebrate the progress we've made together and look ahead to the positive impact this school will have for years to come."
