Wrenbury Primary School is marking an extraordinary milestone this year: 150 years at the heart of its village community.

Since opening its doors on Nantwich Road, Wrenbury, in 1876, the school has been a place of learning, friendship, and shared memories for generations of pupils, families, staff, and neighbours.

To honour this heritage and look forward to the future, the school is launching a year-long celebration and inviting the wider community to join in commemorating its rich history.

Wrenbury Primary School is asking past and present pupils, families, staff and local residents to share 150 stories that have shaped the school's journey, bringing its history to life,

Contributions may include:

  • Personal memories of school days, teachers, lessons or friendships
  • Reflections on how the school and community have changed over time
  • Photographs, artefacts, memorabilia or documents linked to the school's history

These stories and items will form part of a collection of memories that will be showcased throughout the year, helping to preserve and celebrate the school's legacy for future generations.

Headteacher, Rebecca Charlesworth, said: "Reaching 150 years is a remarkable achievement for any school.

"Our history is made up of countless personal stories, of pupils who started school here, of staff who have taught and supported our community, and of families who have shared in our journey.

"We are inviting everyone connected to Wrenbury Primary School to help us celebrate by sharing their memories and being part of this special year.

"We are also looking ahead to a summer community celebration event, where we hope to bring past and present together to honour our heritage and create a lasting legacy for future generations."

Stories and memories can be submitted by emailing: [email protected]

Physical artefacts or memorabilia can be brought to the school reception on any Friday between 2pm and 3.30pm.
