Could a new membership help increase spending in Nantwich?
By Chris Riley 14th Jul 2026
A new membership scheme has quietly launched in Nantwich, with the aim of encouraging more people to support the town's independent businesses.
Called Zing: Perks With Purpose, the membership brings together a growing collection of local cafes, restaurants, pubs, beauty and wellness providers, with members paying £2.50 in return for exclusive offers at participating businesses.
Rather than asking businesses to pay to take part, each one decides on an offer that works for them, with the hope of attracting new customers and encouraging residents to discover places they may not have visited before.
The businesses already taking part include Pepper Street Coffee, Doug's Deli, The Globe, The Farmers Arms, The Wilbraham Arms and Oh My Glow, with perks ranging from discounts on food, to 10% off skin treatments.

The idea is about making easier and a little more rewarding for people to choose independent businesses over larger chains, helping to keep more spending within the local community.
With more businesses expected to join over the coming months, the membership is already expanding beyond food and drink into areas such as beauty and wellbeing, with plans to continue growing across a range of independent businesses.
For local residents, the monthly cost is designed to be affordable, with the hope that even one visit to a participating business each month could cover the cost of membership.
As more towns look for ways to support their high streets, initiatives like Zing offer a different approach, encouraging people to shop local through positive incentives rather than asking businesses to absorb the cost of expensive marketing campaigns.
