Step into Summer: Nantwich men urged to join weekly walks
By Jonathan White 6th May 2026
A growing men's walking group in Nantwich is encouraging locals to make the most of the lighter evenings and warmer weather by joining its free weekly wellbeing walks.
The Nantwich branch of Men Walking and Talking has gone from strength to strength since launching in December 2024, offering a simple but powerful way for men to connect.
The concept is straightforward: men walk side by side, enjoy gentle exercise and chat in a relaxed, welcoming environment.
There's no pressure, no formal therapy, just conversation, companionship and fresh air.
Open to men aged 18 and over, the group aims to break down stigma around men's mental health while helping tackle loneliness.

Part of a national network of more than 80 groups across the UK, the Nantwich branch was set up with support from Dave Carter, founder of the successful Sandbach group.
Across the country, the initiative has grown rapidly, with more than 20,000 men taking part in walks over the past year.
Group leader, Steve Marvell, said: "With the evenings brighter and the weather improving, there's never been a better time to come along.
"You don't need to be super fit or know anyone, just turn up, have a walk and a chat. It's amazing how much a simple conversation outdoors can lift your mood."
The Nantwich group meets every Monday at 6.30pm at the Nantwich War Memorial in the town centre. There's no need to book, just turn up and join in, free of charge.
