In today's digital age, social media has become an essential tool for businesses of all sizes, offering a powerful platform to connect with customers, build brand awareness, and drive growth.

Not only that, but social media enables companies to engage directly with their audience, creating trust through personalised interactions and real-time responses.

For small to medium businesses in particular, social media can be integral to company success, often being a significant sales funnel for their business.

With Nantwich being full of wonderful small to medium businesses Nub News spoke to social media manager at fast-growing Sandbach marketing agency, Swift Cheshire, Matt King, to find out his top three tips for social success.

1. Know your audience

Different social media platforms attract different demographics and support various content types. For instance, Instagram is visual-heavy and popular among younger users, while LinkedIn caters to professionals and B2B marketing. Understand who your target audience is and choose platforms where they are most active, then customising your content strategy accordingly.

2. Consistency and quality over quantity

Maintain a consistent posting schedule to keep your audience engaged and ensure your brand remains top-of-mind. However, focus on the quality of content rather than just the frequency. High-quality, valuable, and relevant content will resonate more with your audience and encourage better engagement, even if it means posting less often.

3. Build relationships

Social media is a two-way street. Engage with your followers by responding to comments, messages, and mentions. Show appreciation for your community by sharing user-generated content, hosting Q&A sessions, or running polls. Building genuine relationships fosters loyalty and encourages word-of-mouth marketing.

Matt added: "While no two social media strategies are the same, the fundamentals for building a good online presence remain regardless of brand or company size. These three basic tips should be kept front of mind for any brand or marketeer delivering a social campaign.

"If you're not sure how to get the best from your social channels or how to even get started, then please do reach out to us at Swift, we love nothing more than chatting social media and marketing with local businesses!"
