Several individuals and organisations with strong Nantwich connections are celebrating after being named finalists in the Everybody Awards 2026.

Among those shortlisted are Craig Acton of Nantwich Town Disability Football, who has been recognised in the Diversity & Inclusion Award category, Charmaine Abdul Karim, a finalist for Community Champion of the Year, and Maria Burney, who has been shortlisted for the Customer Hero Award.

Their achievements will be celebrated alongside other inspirational finalists from across Cheshire East at this year's awards ceremony.

Taking place on Friday 16 October 2026 at Cranage Estate, Holmes Chapel, the Everybody Awards celebrate the outstanding people, projects and organisations making a real difference to health, wellbeing and community life across Cheshire East.

The awards recognise those who help others get active, create welcoming spaces and bring communities together.

Everybody Health & Leisure Patron Baroness Tanni Grey-Thompson will host the evening.

One of Britain's most celebrated Paralympians and a passionate advocate for sport and inclusion, Baroness Grey-Thompson will help recognise the remarkable achievements of this year's finalists.

As well as the categories below, guests will also see the presentation of the Chairman's Award and the prestigious Lifetime Achievement Award, recognising outstanding dedication, contribution and lasting impact within our communities.

Sports Personality of the Year

Every finalist has been nominated because they have made a genuine difference to the lives of others.

The Nantwich finalists are among a remarkable group of community champions, volunteers, sporting role models and inspirational individuals who are helping make Cheshire East a healthier, happier and more connected place to live.

Finalists, guests and supporters will be welcomed to Cranage Estate this October for what promises to be a fantastic evening of celebration.
