The Nantwich-based food service delivering 'quality' locally sourced meals
A Nantwich-based food preparation service delivering "quality" meals from locally sourced produce, is growing in popularity across Cheshire East and beyond.
Prep-D, launched by Andy Bradshaw in his own home during Covid-19 lockdown, quickly took off with locals.
Following this instant popularity, Andy soon decided to expand this service, constructing a council approved outhouse kitchen in July 2023.
Since then, Prep-D has achieved a five-star FSA food hygiene rating and makes close to 1500 meals a week.
Prep-D serves two weekly menus, 'Home Comforts,' delivered every Wednesday, and 'Macros' delivered every Sunday.
Andy told Nub News: "I worked as a chef 15 years ago and then worked in sales job for a decade.
"My passion has always been for cooking, stemming from cooking for my grandad.
"During Covid-19 lockdown I had a few neighbours who couldn't leave the house and I started cooking food for them in my house.
"Suddenly after my name got out there from word of mouth and the food became popular, I realised there was a great business opportunity here.
"Once I got to 300 meals a week I left my sales job and made an investment to build a kitchen in my garden, which got approved by Cheshire East in July 2023.
"Forward on 18 months and we are making close to 1500 meals a week. Business has gone crazy.
Due to "growing popularity," Prep-D will be launching another food menu in early 2025.
Andy said: "At Prep-D, we keep it reel with locally sourced, quality ingredients supporting our community.
"We are your go-to for premium, hassle-free and portion-controlled meals, catering to all ages and dietary needs.
"The Sunday menu is very much geared towards gym goers and healthy-conscious people with around 500 calories per dish.
"We supply this high-protein food to Elite Fitness in Nantwich and a gym in Leek.
"The Home Comforts menu is more of a traditional one and less calorie-focused, serving the likes of lasagne, cottage pie and sausages and mash.
"We deliver to the likes of Nantwich, Crewe, Sandbach, Middlewich, Alsager and are starting to branch out towards Stoke-on-Trent.
"Our four local drivers deliver around 3pm on a Sunday and currently, I do all the deliveries on a Wednesday from 2pm onwards.
"Currently, last orders are 10pm on Friday for the Sunday menu [Macros] and 10pm on Monday for the Wednesday [Home Comforts] menu. We offer five meals for £30 delivered."
Due to its high demand, Andy is looking at expanding Prep-D to bigger premises in the near future.
The Prep-D owner added: "We have seven member of staff who are all local and we only use local suppliers such as Whittinghams Fresh Food and Stuart Palin Butchers in Crewe.
"Due to our success, we are looking at getting a bigger premises. We are starting to run out of space.
"Even then, I believe will stick to keeping our business local. The majority of our customers are in Crewe.
"To choose your meals, have an online ordering system and take direct messages on Facebook and Instagram.
"For those not comfortable making online orders and want to talk to the chef, I will let them ring me on 07974 008607 and help them do it manually if required."
