A section of a major road in Nantwich is set to reopen this weekend, with a carriageway widening project nearing completion.

Newcastle Road, between Elwood Way and the railway line, closed on Tuesday 21 January.

It is expected the section of road will reopen again on Saturday 15 February.

The traffic lighting system is being renewed, with an existing streetlight being relocated due to the carriageway widening (Ryan Parker).

Emergency access will be maintained where possible.

The carriageway widening project includes the laying of a new beany kerb line and additional ducting into the grass verge behind the new kerb line.
