A calf was rescued by firefighters after it had fallen into a slurry pit in Wybunbury near Nantwich.

An animal rescue unit from Bollington and a rope rescue unit from Lymm went to the rescue of the animal in Wrinehill Road at 7.06 pm yesterday (Sunday).

A spokesperson from Cheshire Fire & Rescue Service said: "Firefighters assisted a farmer to use ropes and a telehandler to rescue a calf that had slipped into a slurry pit."
