Princess Anne has landed in South Cheshire via helicopter to visit the historic Mornflake Oats factory in Crewe to celebrate its 350th anniversary.

Police were seen at the entrance to Mornflake, with officers escorting the Princess Royal to the Gresty Road factory from a nearby field.

Mornflake dates back to the Lea family in 1675, where an oat mlling business was established in the Cheshire East village of Swettenham.

Current owner, John Lea, is a direct descendant of the original founder, William Lea.
