Plans have been put forward for up to 85 homes on a greenfield agricultural site in Nantwich, along with a new children's play area.

David Wilson Homes has submitted outline planning permission for 6.39 hectares of land to the east of London Road, bordering Wybunbury Lane.

The housing developer proposes a new residential development, located within the Nantwich South and Stapeley ward.

Vehicular access is proposed on London Road, across from the Stapeley Water Gardens estate (Google).

David Wilson Homes proposes 30 per cent of the Nantwich homes to be affordable, with a new community orchard also planned on-site.

A design and access statement reads: "The outline planning application provides for up to 85 new homes. Provision will be made for 30 per cent affordable housing.

"The affordable homes will be evenly distributed through the site as a whole.

"The development will have a distinct character and identity due to the 'landscape-led' approach that has been applied to the masterplan design process.

"At the detailed design stage, the new homes will comprise a range of types and sizes to encourage the creation of a balanced community that meets local housing need and demand in both the market and affordable sector.

"A significant proportion of the site will comprise green infrastructure to form a connected and accessible network of public spaces.

"The green infrastructure equates to nearly 61 per cent of the total site area, and will provide a high quality and attractive setting for the new homes.

"Vehicular access is proposed via a new priority junction with London Road.

"The access point comprises a 5.5 metre-wide carriageway and two metre-wide footways on both sides of the access to link into the existing footways located on the eastern side of London Road.

Green infrastructure is proposed for nearly 61 per cent of the total site area, including a children's play area (David Wilson Homes).

"One bedroom homes will typically be provided with one parking space each, two bedroom homes with two spaces each, and homes with three bedrooms or more with two spaces each."

The last date for submitting comments is Wednesday 3 September, with a target decision date of Wednesday 22 October.
