Plans have been given the green light to expand an existing Nantwich dental surgery, by converting a first floor flat above.

On Wednesday 3 July, Mill Dental Practice, Pillory Street, received planning approval from Cheshire East Council.

The first floor apartment, which currently consists of a bedroom, bathroom, kitchen and living room, will be converted to add a further three surgeries and a staff room.

The first floor apartment, which currently consists of a bedroom, bathroom, kitchen and living room, will be converted to add a further three surgeries and a staff room (Cheshire East Planning).

This will add to the existing two surgeries, reception/waiting room, decon, hall, WC and store on the ground floor.

An existing ground floor staircase is set to be removed and replaced with a new one for the conversion.

A Cheshire East planning officer said: "The principle and design of the proposed conversion of first floor flat into dental surgery are considered acceptable with the building being unlisted and the works involving internal alterations only.

"The surrounding area is a mix of residential and retail units, and the ground floor is an existing dental surgery.

"The proposal will have no material impact on the conservation area and would have no further impact on amenity.

"The proposal is in general accordance with the relevant policies of the Development Plan.

"The application is recommended for approval subject to conditions."
