Plans to convert a Nantwich garage into a new pottery studio have been given the green light, after Cheshire East received no objections to the development.
Applicant, Samantha Jackson, of 114 Hospital Street, applied for the change of use of a garage to the rear of the building.
On Monday 17 June, this was approved by the council. The applicant confirmed there would be no change to the outside of the building, just the use inside.
This garage already has a working toilet inside, as well as waste facilities.
A Cheshire East planning officer was satisfied with the proposals, saying "The proposed change of use is of a small scale, operating as a pottery studio.
"Parking is available to the rear of 114 Hospital Street sited some distance from the rear of the dwellings on Hospital Street.
"The potential impact on the conservation area and area of archaeological importance have been considered by the council's relevant officers
"They have not objected to the application given there is no change to the external appearance of the garage and would not likely disturb any archology given there is no groundworks proposed.
"There are no material highway implications associated with this proposal given the garage is already utilised as a workshop and there are several spaces located to the front of the garage.
"The proposed change of use is acceptable in this instance and complies with the local planning policy and the NPPF (National Planning Policy Framework)."
