A newly opened dog shop in Nantwich is adding a generous twist to its menu of handmade treats, with the launch of monthly charity dog biscuits supporting local animal organisations.

Canine Creations Cheshire's Local Barkery, which recently opened on Pillory Street, has already become a colourful haven for dog owners, offering everything from natural treats and toys to handcrafted accessories and its own in-house designed harness range.

Owners Zoe, and partner Nick, say their love of dogs inspired every detail of the business.

Visitors can browse the bright retail space before heading to the back of the shop, where they can watch fresh dog cakes and treats being baked each day in the working barkery.

Now, the pair have introduced a new monthly charity biscuit initiative. Each month, the team will bake a special biscuit featuring the logo of a chosen charity, with all proceeds donated directly to that cause.

December's biscuit will raise money for HerOES Rehoming, a charity dedicated to rescuing and rehoming Old English Sheepdogs in need.

In January 2026, the spotlight will turn to Pawprints to Freedom, a Nantwich-based rescue service.

Zoe said: "We wanted to give something back to the animals who need it most.

"Creating a biscuit that supports a different charity each month felt like a fun and meaningful way to do that.

"Our customers love treating their pups, and now those treats can make a real difference locally."

Canine Creations Cheshire's Local Barkery is open 10am to 4pm (Monday to Wednesday), 9am to 4pm (Thursday and Friday), 9am to 5pm (Saturday) and 10am to 3pm (Sunday) (Photo: Jonathan White).

Canine Creations began several years ago on Nantwich Market, where Zoe and Nick first sold their handmade treats.

After moving to a base at Regents Park for two years, the pair have now realised their long-held dream of opening a dedicated town-centre barkery.

Canine Creations Cheshire's Local Barkery is open 10am to 4pm (Monday to Wednesday), 9am to 4pm (Thursday and Friday), 9am to 5pm (Saturday) and 10am to 3pm (Sunday).
