The Hadzilla Cup charity football match returned to Nantwich with another hugely successful day of football, live music and fundraising, raising an incredible £8,400 for Pancreatic Cancer UK.

Held at Swansway Stadium, home of Nantwich Town F.C., on Saturday 9 May, the Hadzilla Cup once again brought together players, families, businesses and supporters from across the community for a memorable occasion.

Since launching in 2024, the Hadzilla fundraising events have now raised more than £30,000 for the charity.

The annual event was created by brothers Martin Hadzik and Robert Hadzik in memory of their brother, Steven Hadzik, who sadly died from pancreatic cancer in 2023.

What began as a tribute to Steven has since grown into a major community event, uniting people for an important cause while creating a positive and uplifting atmosphere.

Organisers praised everybody involved in helping make the day another success, including the players who took part in the charity football match and delivered an entertaining spectacle for supporters.

Throughout the day, Mike Lawton provided sound support to keep the event running smoothly, while photographer Neil Workman captured the memorable moments from the occasion.

Live acoustic music performances also helped create a fantastic atmosphere for those attending, while one of the standout attractions for families was a visit from Cheshire Fire and Rescue Service, whose fire engine proved extremely popular with children and adults alike.

Food and refreshments were supplied by Really Good Food Co, who also supported the fundraiser with a generous donation.

Classic cars on display added to the festival atmosphere, with organisers thanking all vehicle owners who attended and showcased their cars during the event.

The organisers said the continued support from the local community is what makes Hadzilla possible year after year, thanking everybody who attended, donated, volunteered and helped spread the word.

Attention is already turning to the next fundraiser, Hadzilla Rocks, which takes place on 5t September at The Arena Crewe on High Street.

The live music event will feature performances from Son of Shinobi and Mutha Humbucker, with all proceeds once again going to Pancreatic Cancer UK. Doors open at 7pm, with tickets available via Skiddle.

Further updates and information can also be found via the Hadzilla Cup Official Facebook group.
