Nantwich woman launches free children's clothing scheme to help local families

A Nantwich woman has launched a free children's clothing scheme to help local families save money and stop good-quality clothes going to waste.
Chloe Rowe has set up the Nantwich Clothing Loop, allowing parents and carers to pass on pre-loved clothes as their children quickly grow out of them.
The initiative is part of the international Clothing Loop network and aims to make sharing clothes easier, cheaper and more sustainable for families across the town.
Chloe told Nub News; "Children grow out of clothes so quickly, and it feels such a waste when perfectly good items are left unworn or end up being thrown away.
"At the same time, buying everything new can become expensive, especially when you have growing children.
"I wanted to bring the Clothing Loop to Nantwich to give local families a simple way to share what they already have, avoiding having to ship items or pay postage fees and help keep clothes in use for longer.

"It's completely free to take part, and hopefully it will bring families together along the way, too."
The concept is simple. Bags of children's clothing travel between participating households, with each family able to take any items they like and add suitable clothes their children have outgrown.
Once they have finished browsing, the bag is passed to the next household within three days, keeping clothes in circulation rather than sitting unused in wardrobes or being thrown away.
The Nantwich loop is specifically for children's clothing in sizes up to age 12, giving parents and carers a way to refresh their children's wardrobes without constantly spending money on new outfits.
A local WhatsApp group will also allow members to connect and offer larger items, including coats, which may not fit easily into the travelling bags.
The scheme will grow as more families sign up, with organisers hoping to keep drop-offs convenient by connecting households living close to one another.
There is also the possibility of expanding the initiative to include women's and men's clothing in the future.
Families in Nantwich and the surrounding area can join for free through the Clothing Loop website.
