Nantwich musician launches debut single recorded in an Australian bedroom
By Ryan Parker 30th Oct 2026
A Nantwich singer-songwriter released her first single on Spotify and other streaming platforms on Friday 30 October.
Olivia Amson-Orth, known as Liv, has been writing songs and playing guitar since her early teenage years, but 'What You Don't Know' marks her first release on streaming platforms.
The song was written in March 2024 while Liv was living in Australia, where she met musician, Geno, at an open mic night.
Sharing a passion for music, the pair challenged themselves to write an album's worth of material, meeting once a week for just over a month and producing around 12 songs.
Each track took a different direction, with 'What You Don't Know' inspired by Liv's frustration with the state of the world and the decisions made by those in power.
The song explores how people in positions of authority make choices on behalf of the communities they represent, despite not necessarily experiencing or understanding the challenges those people face.

With Geno contributing guitar and both musicians working on the lyrics, the track began to take shape.
It was recorded in Geno's bedroom in Toowoomba, Australia, with drums provided by fellow open mic attendee, Phil Jones.
The song was then mastered in Finland by Joona Pirilä before Liv returned to the UK.
Despite completing the recording and mastering process, Liv was initially unsure whether to release the track.
However, the changing political climate convinced her that now was the right time to share it with the world.
'What You Don't Know' is now available to stream on Spotify and other major streaming platforms.
Liv is also performing in 'Education, Education, Education at Nantwich Players Theatre this week, with all dates sold out.
