A Nantwich Mexican restaurant and a traditional town sweet shop have been handed five-star food hygiene ratings, according to recent Food Standard Agency (FSA) reports.
The FSA Food Hygiene Rating Scheme is aimed at helping people choose where to eat out or shop for food.
This scheme is in partnership with local authorities in England, Wales and Northern Ireland.

It gives businesses a rating from 0 to 5 - displayed at their premises and online.
A five-star hygiene rating means "hygiene standards are very good" for the business.
All information was taken from the Food Standard Agency website as of Friday 6 June:
- Cherry On Top - 3 Crown Mews, High Street, Nantwich (11 September, 2025)

- Loco - 25 Welsh Row, Nantwich (25 September, 2025)

A food safety officer from Cheshire East Council inspected the Nantwich restaurant and shop to check they were both following food hygiene law and ensuring the food sold was safe to eat.
At all inspections, the officer checked the following three elements:
- Hygienic food handling - (five-star)
- Cleanliness and condition of facilities and building – (five-star)
- Management of food safety - (five-star)
Cherry On Top and Loco were both rated five-star based on these checks.
