Nantwich pubs handed 2026 five-star food hygiene ratings
By Ryan Parker 22nd Mar 2026
Three Nantwich pubs have been boosted with new five-star food hygiene ratings for 2026, according to recent Food Standard Agency (FSA) reports.
The FSA Food Hygiene Rating Scheme is aimed at helping people choose where to eat out or shop for food.
This scheme is in partnership with local authorities in England, Wales and Northern Ireland.

It gives businesses a rating from 0 to 5 - displayed at their premises and online.
A five-star hygiene rating means "hygiene standards are very good" for the business.
All information was taken from the Food Standard Agency website as of Thursday 19 March
- Red Cow, 51 Beam Street, Nantwich - (26 February, 2026)

- The Black Lion, 29 Welsh Row, Nantwich - (13 March, 2026)

- The Cheshire Cat, 26 Welsh Row, Nantwich (22 January, 2026)

Red Cow, The Black Lion and The Cheshire Cat were all rated five-star based on these checks.
