The licensee of a historic Nantwich town centre venue is celebrating 10 years in charge, with his pie and mash menu proving a "massive success" with customers.
The Vine Inn, Hospital Street, has been operated by Nantwich resident, Daniel Strong, on behalf of Hydes Brewery since 2014.
Opened during the 17th-century, The Vine Inn is one of Nantwich's oldest pubs, attracting customers from across South Cheshire and further afield.
Serving food seven days per week, The Vine Inn is in partnership with Pieminister to offer its "tasty" baked pastry dishes.
Mr Strong told Nub News: "I have been in the pub trade for 30 years and loved every second of my stint here so far. The last 10 years have flown by.
"The Vine Inn is a very community-driven pub and one for all ages and walks of life. Everyone here feels safe and welcomed.
"There is a really friendly vibe here. Those who come in on their own, relax, have a chat at the bar, read a newspaper and chill out in our beer garden.
"We are also great for families, dog owners, tourists and more. With the pub being so central in Nantwich, we aim to be at the heart of the community.
"We offer a classic pie, mash and gravy menu. With the current economic climate we felt this was the right move for us.
"The menu has gone down really well and been a massive success. We will certainly stick with it for now.
The Vine Inn offers a selection of "high-quality" cask ales, with a wide range of styles and flavours.
With 10 TV screens and three Sky boxes, the "traditional" Hospital Street venue aims to cater for all sporting occasions.
Mr Strong said: "The Vine Inn is a big drinking pub and with our fantastic facilities, we will put on any sporting event you ask for.
"When we get customers who have recently moved to Nantwich, they often say ''this is going to be my new local.'
"This pub often makes people feel like they have been here before and that shows the welcoming appeal we have.
"The Vine is an old, historic building with lots of character, with the walls filled with lovely pictures of Nantwich.
"This is a traditional British black and white pub. The younger generation seem to appreciate it here."
Just a three-minute walk from Nantwich Town Square, the grade II-listed building offer a central spot for customers to enjoy.
Mr Strong added: "I love it at The Vine and have loads of passion for it. This is exactly what British pubs are about.
"Nantwich is also a really good with loads going for it. The night life is great too.
"Over my 10 years here, we have changed the pub a lot but I believe it has all been for the better.
"Each generation seems to enjoy it which means The Vine should be here for years to come."
The Vine Inn is open from 12pm to 12am, seven days per week. Food is served until late (around 10pm).
