A Nantwich town centre opticians chain is currently closed for a major refurbishment, with the shop set to reopen this May.

Bayfields Opticans and Audiologists, High Street, is set to reopen to customers on Saturday 16 May.

Offering the likes of eye tests, hearing tests, glasses adjustments and repairs, and ear wax removal, Bayfields has grown to over 50 UK branches.

With locations in nearby Sandbach, Alager, Tarporley and Newcastle-under-Lyme, Bayfields is fairly accessible while its Nantwich outlet is closed.

This month-long makeover allows for the Nantwich store to be updated to a high standard.

Bayfields say: "Our practise will be temporarily closed from Friday 17 April to Friday 15 May, while we carry out improvements.

"We'll reopen and resume appointments from Saturday 16 May.

"If you need assistance during this time, please visit our Tarporey practise [9.5 miles away], which is your nearest alternative location.

"For urgent eye concerns, we recommend calling NHS 111 for advice. Thank you for your understanding while we make these updates."
