Nantwich opportunist, 32, charged after assaulting two police officers

A Nantwich man has been charged with seven offences, including assaulting two police officers, after entering driveways and trying car door handles in the town.
On Wednesday 28 January, Cheshire Police received reports of a male acting suspiciously on Prince Edward Street and Manor Road.
At 11.01pm, officers arrived at the scene, locating and arresting the man nearby for vehicle interference.
Whilst under arrest, the 32-year-old struck two officers. He remained in police custody before being charged on January 29.
The man is set to appear at Crewe Magistrates' Court on Thursday 12 March.

A Nantwich Police spokesperson said: "A 32-year-old Nantwich male has been charged with seven offences, following incidents on Prince Edward Street and Manor Road.
"At 11.01pm on Wednesday 28 January, response officers attended Prince Edward Street following reports of a male entering driveways and trying car door handles.
"The male was located nearby and arrested for vehicle interference. Whilst under arrest he has then assaulted two police officers.
"The male remained in custody overnight before being interviewed and charged on the afternoon of January 29.
"He will now appear at Crewe Magistrates' Court on 12 March."
