Nantwich MP, Connor Naismith, has confirmed he is "liasing" with Cheshire police and crime commissioner, Daniel Price, to tackle the town's big anti-social behaviour "problem."

In an exclusive interview with Nub News, the MP said he would like to have a "walk around" Nantwich town centre during peak night-time hours with Mr Price.

In September, Mr Naismith said one of his three main priorities for Nantwich was to tackle the issue of anti-social behaviour.

Crewe and Nantwich MP, Connor Naismith, would like to have a 'walk around' Nantwich town centre during peak night-time hours with Cheshire police and crime commissioner, Daniel Price (Connor Naismith/Daniel Price).

During visits to the South Cheshire town, the MP has confirmed anti-social behaviour is the "main issue" local residents discuss with him.

Now, to progress a plan on dealing with the problem, Mr Naismith wants the police and crime commissioner to see the problems "first-hand."

Mr Naismith told Nub News: "I am liasing with Cheshire Police and crime commissioner, Daniel Price, with a view to potentially having a walk around Nantwich town centre on a night-time during peak times to get a feel for what the issues are.

"Anti-social behaviour is an issue residents that live around Nantwich town centre have raised with me several times.

"Whenever I visit Nantwich and knock on doors to people to local residents, that is the main issue people want to talk about.

"I am really keen to get Mr Price's attention, and what better way to do it than by literally showing them the issue first-hand.

Anti-social behaviour is the 'main issue' Nantwich residents are talking about (Nub News).

"There might be an opportunity to host a public meeting for Nantwich residents on this, but we haven't finalised the details on that yet.

"If we can look at the deployment of police resources around particular peak times, reassuring people there is a police presence in Nantwich, that will help to create a deterrent of anti-social behaviour."

Nantwich Nub News is meeting with Mr Naismith on a bi-monthly basis for regular updates on the constituency.
