Nantwich gears up for day of free music in town square
By Jonathan White 2nd Apr 2026
Nantwich is set to come alive with music and fun on Saturday 18 April as 'The Funky Choir and Friends' take over the Town Square for a free all-day musical extravaganza from 10am to 5pm.
This family-friendly event promises a vibrant lineup of live performances featuring some of the area's favourite community groups: The Funky Choir, Nantwich Concert Band, MicWire, The Lostock Ukulele Group, The Grove Singers, and Crewe Brass Band.
The Funky Choir, a faith-based community choir from South Cheshire, is known for its infectious energy, three-part harmonies, and contemporary "funky" songs performed to backing tracks.
Local pride shines with the Nantwich Concert Band, a brass and woodwind ensemble active since 1983, performing everything from traditional wind band classics to modern stage and film favourites.
MicWire, from nearby Weston, welcomes singers of all ages and abilities in an informal, no-audition choir focused on wellbeing and community connection.
Adding a splash of high-energy charm, The Lostock Ukulele Group from Northwich combines lively performances with fundraising for local causes, while The Grove Singers, a chamber choir performing around Crewe and Nantwich, will delight audiences with their harmonious sound.
Crewe Brass, a competitive and community-focused brass band, will showcase their trademark lively performances that have been delighting audiences across South Cheshire since 1984.
Whether you're a music lover, a family looking for a fun day out, or simply keen to enjoy the spring sunshine, Town Square on 18 April is the place to be.
