Nantwich has once again put on a huge show, with 2026's Food Festival hailed a major success after an incident-free weekend.

Thousands of visitors descended on the town for the annual three-day festival (4 to 6 September), with food, drink, entertainment and market stalls filling the town centre.

But behind the scenes, the event has involved months of planning and preparation, with volunteers, organisers, stewards, traders, partners and emergency services all playing their part.

Organisers said the successful festival had once again provided a fantastic advert for Nantwich, with many visitors experiencing the town for the first time.

Nantwich Police said the festival had passed without incident, helping ensure visitors could enjoy the event safely.

A spokesperson said: "As the curtain falls on yet another hugely successful and incident-free Nantwich Food Festival, we reflect on what a weekend it's been.

"But events like this don't happen by chance.

"Behind the scenes, there has been months of planning, preparation and teamwork, with every single volunteer, organiser, steward, trader and partner playing their part.

"Once again, Nantwich has put on a fantastic show and provided a brilliant advert for our wonderful town.

"We have no doubt that many of those visiting for the first time will be back throughout the year to enjoy everything Nantwich has to offer."

As the final stalls were packed away, the clean-up operation got underway across the town centre.
