Nantwich bar seeks change to door security rules
By Ryan Parker 20th Oct 2026
A Nantwich sports bar has applied to change the rules governing when it needs to employ door security staff.
Goat, High Street, has submitted an application to Cheshire East Council to amend a condition of its premises licence.
The application was made by Four Pints Collective Limited on Monday 19 October.
Currently, the pub's licence includes a condition relating to SIA-registered door supervisors, who are licensed security staff.
The proposed change would mean the need for door supervisors would be decided through a documented risk assessment carried out by the premises licence holder.
If the assessment identifies a need for door security staff, the pub would have to employ an appropriate number of supervisors.
The application has been submitted as a minor variation to the premises licence and relates to the prevention of crime and disorder.
Anyone wishing to make representations about the application must do so in writing by Monday 2 November.
You can also submit your representation by emailing: [email protected].
Nantwich's GOAT was recently named 'Best Pub to Watch Sports' at the Great British Pub Awards 2026.
