Man in hospital with 'minor burns' after HGV hits power cable in Nantwich

A HGV driver is currently in hospital with "minor burns" after his HGV hit a power cable in Nantwich.
On Wednesday 20 November, emergency services received reports of an incident at the junction of the B5341 (Chester Road), A534 and A51, Acton.
At around 6.53am, two fire crews from Nantwich and Crewe arrived at the scene, followed by Cheshire Police and North West Ambulance Service.
Emergency services discovered a HGV driver parked in a lay-by, had lifted the vehicle's tipper truck, hitting a power cable.
The male driver was treated by paramedics at the scene before being taken to hospital with minor burns.
Firefighters assisted paramedics before making the scene safe. They were in attendance for approximately three hours.
Chester Road reopened around 10am, with electricity utility providers isolating the power.
A Cheshire Police spokesperson told Nub News: "At 7am on Wednesday 20 November, police were called to reports of an incident on Chester Road, Acton.
"Officers attended and found a HGV, parked in a lay-by, had lifted his tipper truck and hit a power cable.
"The driver of the HGV was treated by paramedics at the scene before being taken to hospital with minor burns.
"Chester Road was closed as a result of the incident and electricity utility providers were called to the scene to isolate the power before the vehicle was recovered.
