The A500 Shavington Bypass is currently blocked after a car overturned and a lorry crashed into a tree in a major incident near Crewe this morning.

Around 8.56am, Cheshire Police received reports of a collision involving a HGV and a car.

There are no reports of any injuries, with the section of A500 closed while recovery took place.

It reopened again during the afternoon, several hours after the collision.

A Cheshire Police spokesperson told Nub News: "At 8.56am on Friday 29 November, police were called to a collision on the A500, Barthomley, near Crewe.

There are no reports of any injuries, with the section of A500 closed while recovery takes place (Cheshire Police).

"Officers attended and found the collision involved two vehicles, a HGV and a car.

"There are no reports of any injuries, but the road is currently closed while recovery work is undertaken."
