Four people have been arrested on suspicion of shoplifting offences in Crewe and Nantwich, following separate incidents on Tuesday 3 December (Nub News).

Four people have been arrested on suspicion of shoplifting offences in Crewe and Nantwich, following incidents across South Cheshire.

On Tuesday 3 December, Cheshire Police received separate reports of shoplifting in Crewe town centre, Grand Junction Retail Park and Nantwich town centre.

Officers were deployed to the four incidents, locating and arresting two men and two women.

All four currently remain in police custody.

A Cheshire Police spokesperson said: "As part of an ongoing operation into retail crime, four people in Crewe and Nantwich have been arrested on Tuesday 3 December, on suspicion of separate shoplifting offences.

"We have received a number of reports of shopliftings from the Crewe town centre area, Grand Junction Retail Park and Nantwich.

"Deployed officers have been able to locate and arrest four people involved, two male and two female suspects.

"They all currently remain in police custody at this time. "
