New crossing and speed limit reduction introduced at Nantwich roundabout
By Ryan Parker 5th Mar 2026
The first phase of highway improvement works have been completed at Peacock Roundabout on the A51 Nantwich Bypass, with phase two set to start "shortly."
This development includes a new toucan crossing and a speed limit reduction on the roundabout's approach, along with new street lighting and an improved cycleway.
This follows over six weeks of works at the busy South Cheshire roundabout, which commenced on January 12.

Cheshire East Highways said: "Phase one works to install a new Toucan crossing, improve cycleway, install new street lighting and reduce the speed limit are complete.
"Phase two works will start shortly, we will provide further updates when available.
"Thank you for your patience during the works.
"We do understand that there is no right time to work in such a key location and this scheme has been carefully planned to minimise disruption."
Access for pedestrians and cyclists are being maintained at all times, with cyclists asked to dismount through the roadworks.
