Plans have been submitted to extend a Grade II-listed property in Nantwich, as well as making parking improvements.
On Monday 2 September, applicant, Mr Dickson, proposed a two storey rear extension with minor alterations at 60 Pillory Street.
Mr Dickson also wants to resurface the current householder car park area, adding security gates to restrict casual access by others to the property's rear.
At least two spaces will be provided with opportunity for additional parking.
This Nantwich cottage, situated at the southern and western side of Pillory Street, leads directly into Nantwich town centre.
Built in the late 18th century to early 19th century, this property is part of the 52-62 Pillory Street terrace, which are all Grade II-listed.
A design, access and supporting statement reads: "A two storey rear extension is proposed with the first floor bedroom set back over the ground floor, which will provide accomodation more appropriate for family living.
"The garden, being so extensive, provides ideal opportunity to increase number 60's floor area to separate kitchen/dining/living spaces satisfactorily and introduce a ground floor toilet.
"The first floor would have three bedrooms with ensuite to one and a retainer bathroom.
"The ground floor, which projects beyond the first floor, has been shown with a pitched slate roof.
"The bedroom extension has a flat roof in line with similar neighbouring alterations.
"The flat roof on completed extensions to the north maintains the string rear horizontal gutter/eaves line.
"Pitched roofs, cutting into the simple terraced entrance would be a distraction.
"So, to be consistent, our proposal is to maintain the status quo. All materials would also match existing with window materials left for the authority to determine.
"Building regulation approval ensures insulation standards are applied and improvements to the existing loft space will be included to meet with the desired upgrades to help offset climate change and CO2 emission targets."
The last date for submitting comments on this application is Wednesday 2 October, with a target decision date of Monday 28 October.
