Cheshire Police opens recruitment window for new police officers

Cheshire Police has opened its latest recruitment window and is inviting anyone interested in a career in policing to a special event at its Winsford HQ on Wednesday 24 September (Cheshire Police).

Cheshire Police has opened its latest recruitment window and is inviting anyone interested in a career in policing to a special event at its Winsford HQ on Wednesday 24 September.

The event will give people the chance to meet officers, ask questions and experience first-hand what a policing career can offer.  

Attendees will be able to meet officers from a variety of specialist teams, including the Underwater Search Team, Drone Unit, Roads and Crime Unit, Firearms, Dog Unit, and detectives and speak directly with the recruitment, training and vetting teams about the application process.

They will also be able tolLearn more about what it's like to train and work as a police constable in Cheshire and take part in a practice fitness bleep test, attendees are welcome to bring along sports kit if they would like to give it a try. 

Assistant Chief Constable, Alison Ross, said: "Becoming a police constable is more than just starting a new job, it's joining a team that works every day to protect people and make our communities safer.

"Policing is a very challenging, and rewarding, career and we're looking for people from all walks of life who have the passion, resilience and commitment to make a difference to apply.  

"Cheshire is a high performing police force that has been praised for its excellent performance in keeping people safe, reducing crime and giving victims an effective service. 

"We have retained our position as the safest place in the North West which reflects the dedication of our staff and officer in protecting the public.

"Latest figures show that Cheshire has the lowest crime rate in the North West compared with the other police forces in the region.

Applications for new recruits are open now and will close at 9am on Monday 6 October (Cheshire Police).
