A canal bridge on a major road near Nantwich is closed for almost three weeks, allowing It to be repaired following a collision.

The closure of the bridge, which goes over The Shropshire Union Canal, is expected to be in place until Saturday 1 February.

Emergency access will be maintained where possible. The closure takes place from 50 metres each side of the bridge.

The official diversion route is via Main Road, Nantwich Road, Over Road, Swanlow Road, Over Square, Oakmere Road, Oakmere Road Roundabout, Chester Lane Roundabout and Chester Lane.

It continues via Chester Road, Tarporley Road, Luddington Hill, A49/A51 Roundabout, Tarporley Bypass, Station Road, Millstone Lane, Millstone Lane Roundabout and vice versa.
