An air ambulance rescued an injured cyclist, after being called to an incident in rural Nantwich.

On Tuesday 4 November, emergency services were called to the Norbury area, near Wrenbury, in "challenging" conditions.

At 11.59am, Cheshire Police arrived at the scene, with support from North West Air Ambulance, discovering a cyclist had been hurt.

The cyclist suffered injuries not believed to be life-threatening and is expected to make a full recovery.

A Nantwich Police spokesperson said: "The Air Ambulance Service came to the rescue of an injured cyclist in rural Nantwich on Tuesday 4 November.

"At 11:59am, our officers deployed to Norbury following the report of an injured cyclist.

"No other road users were involved and early indications are that the cyclists injuries are not life-threatening.

"Thanks to the local residents who came their aid and the fantastic air ambulance who were able to assist despite challenging weather conditions."

I wonder how much it cost to send an air ambulance instead of a traditional road-going ambulance to someone whose injuries "are not life-threatening". What with the massive amounts reported earlier for compensation payments, no wonder the NHS is in crisis. Someone needs to get a grip..
