Police made 35 arrests across the Crewe and Nantwich area over the weekend, with offences ranging from domestic assault and drink-driving to drugs, harassment and theft.

A policing snapshot released by officers covering South Cheshire, detailed a series of arrests between Friday 5 June and Sunday 7 June.

Among those arrested was an 18-year-old man from Nantwich, arrested on suspicion of domestic assault after reports he struck his partner in the face, causing a fractured jaw.

A 39-year-old man from Nantwich was arrested on suspicion of administering a noxious substance to a woman and stealing money from her.

Police also arrested a 19-year-old man from Hough on suspicion of domestic assault causing injury and controlling and coercive behaviour towards his partner.

In Crewe, a 44-year-old man was arrested following reports of a disturbance at the Lyceum Theatre.

Officers said he was allegedly abusive to members of the public, threw pint glasses and was found in possession of bags containing white powder.

Other Crewe arrests included a 29-year-old woman from Leighton, on suspicion of harassment after allegedly sending threatening messages and emails.

A 30-year-old Crewe man was accused of assaulting his partner while the pair were in the Lake District.

Traffic officers also arrested two motorists on Sunday.

A 35-year-old driver from Stockport was detained in Nantwich after allegedly failing to provide a sample for analysis, while a 21-year-old man was arrested on Middlewich Road, Crewe, after failing a roadside breath test.

Police reminded residents to call 999 in an emergency, 101 for non-emergency incidents, or report crime online.
