A family-run Nantwich travel agency is marking its first Nantwich Food Festival since opening in the town with a special event aimed at inspiring people's next adventures.

Global Travel & Cruise, which opened its doors at the historic Queen's Aid House on High Street in March, will welcome Riviera Travel to its Nantwich branch today (Friday 4 September).

From 12pm to 3pm, visitors can meet Katie from Riviera Travel and find out more about escorted tours, cruises and European river cruising, as well as get some inspiration for their next holiday.

The event coincides with the start of Nantwich Food Festival and gives festival-goers the chance to pop into the travel agency while enjoying everything taking place around the town centre.

Katie will be on hand to discuss Riviera Travel's new 2028 programme, provide expert travel advice and share ideas for future holidays.

Visitors will also be able to find out about selected booking benefits and incentives available through Riviera.

With more than 40 years of experience, Riviera Travel offers holidays across a wide range of destinations, with itineraries designed to take care of the details for travellers.

European river cruising will be one of the focuses of Friday's event, with the team able to explain the destinations, experiences, full-board dining and all-inclusive drinks available on selected cruises.

There will also be information for people travelling independently, including Riviera's dedicated solo cruises and selected sailings available with no single supplement.

The event comes almost six months after Global Travel & Cruise launched its Nantwich shop, becoming the independent agency's third branch.

The family-run business was founded by Sarah Meadowcroft and her mother Isobel in 2001, initially operating as a homeworking agency specialising in luxury travel.

Its first shop followed in West Kirby in 2003, before Sarah and her daughter Laila continued the family's expansion with a second branch in Neston in 2025 and Nantwich following earlier this year.

Global Travel & Cruise specialises in luxury and adventure holidays, ranging from high-end hotels and cruises to bespoke itineraries and tailor-made expeditions.

Speaking to Nub News when the Nantwich branch opened, Sarah explained that the company's independence and personal approach to travel were central to the business.

"We're completely independent and take care of our customers," she said.

"Every holiday is tailor-made, and we would never send anyone somewhere we wouldn't go ourselves.

"I do expedition travel myself, including Antarctica twice, and my daughter Laila does it too, so adventure is in our DNA."

Sarah chose Nantwich for the company's third branch after being attracted by the town's strong independent business community.

The agency is based at 41 High Street inside Queen's Aid House, the distinctive timber-framed building constructed following the Great Fire of Nantwich in 1583.

Sarah has previously said the town's "independent traders' feel" and strong sense of community made it the ideal location for the growing travel business.

Now, with its first Nantwich Food Festival taking place since the branch opened, Global Travel & Cruise is inviting both existing customers and festival visitors to call in, meet the team and start thinking about where their next trip could take them.

Those wanting dedicated time with Katie from Riviera Travel are encouraged to call Global Travel & Cruise on 01270 895 850, with only a small number of appointments available.

Alternatively, visitors can pop into the shop between 12pm and 3pm today (Friday 4 September) as part of their Food Festival day.

Global Travel & Cruise Nantwich is located at 41 High Street and is normally open 9.30am to 5pm, Monday to Saturday.
